Welcome to Brian Bosman Goldsmith Studio. By using this website, contacting us, or commissioning any work from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. General
1.1 This is not an e-commerce website. No items can be purchased directly online. All pricing, quotations, and orders are handled manually via email, WhatsApp, phone, or in-person consultation.
1.2 Brian Bosman Goldsmith Studio (Registration Number available on request) is referred to as “we”, “us”, or “Brian Bosman” throughout these terms.
1.3 We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The version applicable is the one in force at the date we issue your written quotation.
2. Authenticity & Certification Guarantee
2.1 Every diamond and coloured gemstone supplied by Brian Bosman Goldsmith Studio is independently certified and/or accompanied by a reputable laboratory report.
2.2 All diamonds 0.30 ct and above are certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or equivalent internationally recognised laboratory.
2.3 Brian Bosman Goldsmith Studio is a member in good standing of the Jewellery Council of South Africa (JCSA) and strictly adheres to its Code of Conduct.
2.4 We guarantee that every item we create or supply is 100 % authentic, conflict-free, and exactly as represented. Should any item be proven otherwise by an independent authority, we will refund the full amount paid plus reasonable verification costs.
3. Quotations & Pricing
3.1 All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
3.2 Written quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.
3.3 Precious metal prices and certain gemstone prices fluctuate daily. We reserve the right to adjust a quotation if market prices change significantly before you accept and pay the deposit.
3.4 A quotation only becomes binding once you have accepted it in writing and paid the required deposit.
4. Deposits & Payment
4.1 A non-refundable deposit of 50 % of the total quoted price is required to commence any bespoke design or manufacturing process.
4.2 The balance is payable in full before collection or delivery of the finished piece.
4.3 We accept payment by EFT. Cash payments above R25 000 must comply with SARS and FICA requirements.
5. Design & Manufacturing Process
5.1 All bespoke pieces are designed and hand-crafted specifically for you and are therefore non-cancellable once manufacturing has begun.
5.2 You will receive design drawings, CAD renders, and/or wax models (where applicable) for approval before final manufacturing commences.
5.3 Minor adjustments during the process are usually possible. Major design changes after approval may incur additional charges.
6. Delivery & Collection
6.1 You will be notified as soon as your piece is ready.
6.2 Risk passes to you upon collection or upon handover to the courier (for fully insured delivery).
6.3 We recommend personal collection of high-value items whenever possible.
7. Returns, Remakes & Refunds
7.1 Because every piece is made-to-order, there is no automatic right of return or refund.
7.2 If you are unhappy with the finished piece, we will remake or adjust it at no extra cost provided the complaint is lodged within 7 days of collection/delivery and the piece shows no signs of wear or damage.
7.3 Deposits are strictly non-refundable once manufacturing or sourcing of materials has commenced.
8. Repairs, Resizing & After-Sales Service
8.1 Lifetime free cleaning, polishing, and rhodium plating (where applicable) on all Brian Bosman pieces.
8.2 One complimentary resizing on engagement and wedding rings within 180 days and within two South African ring sizes (subject to design feasibility).
8.3 All other repairs and alterations are quoted fairly and transparently.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 All designs, drawings, CAD files, photographs, and images created by Brian Bosman Goldsmith Studio remain our exclusive intellectual property.
9.2 Clients receive the physical jewellery piece but do not automatically acquire rights to the design unless a separate written design buy-out agreement is concluded.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the value of the item in question.
10.2 We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of sentimental value.
11. Privacy & Data Protection
11.1 We fully comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
11.2 Your personal information and photographs of your jewellery are used solely for design, manufacturing, insurance, and marketing purposes (with your consent).

12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
